Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. With Lizzy's age and your description / picture of the lump, I suspect this is likely to be a lipoma or cyst. A lipoma is a fatty tumor that is typically benign and not concerning. However, that being said, it is impossible for me to determine for sure what the lump is without further testing. If you would like to get more of a diagnosis, I would recommend having Lizzy examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. The veterinarian can insert a small needle into the mass and look at the cells under the microscope to help better determine what the mass could be. A more definitive test would be to either remove the mass and submit the entire sample to the lab or take a biopsy of the mass and send it to the lab. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
