My dog burned his nose, it's painful, and he won't let me touch it.

Hi Sharn! Oh no, it's not good that Willow is in pain from the burn! Please do not give her any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. I would apply a cold compress to her nose for 10-15 minutes, such as a bag of frozen veggies, but if she won't let you touch it, it's clearly very painful to her. I would have her seen by a vet even if she will let you apply the cold compress. This burn needs to be evaluated and treated by a vet. I would take her into one as soon as possible. Poor Dasani! I would leave it be for now and keep an eye on it. It doesn't look infected to me. You could try gently cleaning it with warm water and antiseptic soap, but if it starts to show signs of infection (swelling, warmth to the touch, pus), then I would take her into the vet to get it treated. I hope this helps!

is lidocaine poisonous to dogs? My dogs nose is sunburned.
Lidocaine is used frequently in veterinary medicine as local anesthetic and medications against arrhythmia. Usually is not helpful in suburns, as the best would be to protect the skin and hydrate it. Specific treatment of sunburn is based on the severity of the burn, so please refer to your local vet for it. Whaat can i give my 16 week old puppy for pain? She was bit by her daddy and now has a small hole in her snout
Ouch, poor Norah. Unfortunately there are no OTC pain medications you can give her, many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. Please take her into a vet now for treatment, she will need antibiotics in addition to pain medication. Best of luck.

My dog has this cut from her pen (enclosed but no top or bottom). It is right at the top of her nose. Basically at the top of the skin and right at the start of the fur. What can i do to help her?
I would put some neosporin in it twice a day. If it is deep, I would have your vet look at it to ensure she doesn’t need any stitches. I would not give her any human pain meds as most are toxic to dogs. I hope this helps!

What painkiller to give for burn in leg
You will need to take your dog to a vet for a pain medication. We can't, by law, prescribe or recommend a pain medication without examining your dog. If your dog has a burn, he may need an antibiotic, too. Please call your vet and schedule an appointment. Hope he recovers quickly.

It would be easier for me to give advice if I could see a photo of what you are referring to. I am not exactly sure what you mean by "cage burn". If you could post again with a photo or two we may be able to help you better. Without seeing it, I would say you could probably use something like Neopsorin. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

My dog has,been to the vet for shots for hematemeis she has started again but this,time its,coming from her nose and like she,is,in,pain
Poor pup! I'm assuming you mean hematemesis, which is blood in the vomit. If she is having blood coming from her nose, she is extremely sick and needs to see a vet immediately. I'm not sure what shots she was given, or what she was diagnosed as having, but she could have ingested a toxin or she may have a blood clotting disorder if blood is coming from her nose. She needs medical attention right away, please take her into a vet now.

My blind dog accidently stepped into a pan of not boiling but hot water being prepared to soak my foot nd now has possibly first degree burn on one back leg land half of his under belly isithere any home treatments I can do to help ease the pain. Btw
The biggest concerns for burns are infection. In order to determine the seriousness of the burn and ensure he gets the best treatment, I recommend taking him to a vet for an exam. Otherwise, the best thing to do is flush the burn with cool water once a day for five minutes. This will give some relief and help prevent infection. After flushing it's best to put silver sulfadiazine cream (can get from the pharmacy) on the burn and cover it with a bandage. Below is a link to a video that demonstrates how to effectively bandage a leg. Avoid putting any antiseptics (i.e. hydrogen peroxide, iodine, or alcohol) on the wound, because this can make it worse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKvcftKDIoM I hope that helps and Sammy gets better soon.

The very top of my dogs nose is raw and was bleeding the other day. I just want to make sure it's nothing serious. How I can treat it?
Your dog may have rubbed it raw, under the couch or through the fence maybe? I suggest washing the area gently with antibacterial soap and water. Apply a warm washcloth 2-3 times a day for five minutes at a time to help keep it clean and draining. After washing and the compress, dry thoroughly and apply a dab of antibiotic ointment that **does NOT** contain hydrocortisone to the wound. Steroids will slow healing. An OTC triple antibiotic ointment will suffice. Rub it in well and don't leave any excess for your pet to lick off. If it does not show signs of healing or if your dog develops a fever, loses his appetite, starts vomiting or has diarrhea have him seen by your veterinarian right away. Potential cause may include allergies, infection, automimmune disease or even cancer. An e-collar (cone) may be used to prevent rubbing or pawing.

Dog has red raw spot on nose where hair meets non hair area. Any medicine to use or treatment?
That looks like either a pretty good scrape or the start of a ringworm infection or an uncommon disorder called eosinophilic furunculosis. I wouldn’t put any medication on it yet, as medication such as cortisone could make it worse if it is ringworm, but I would do a warm water and Epsom salt compress a few times the next 1-2 days. If it starts to scab over and dry up it is probably just a scrape. However if it is getting larger, or if another one pops up then she should be evaluated by a veterinarian soon.
