If a puppy throws up continuously, cannot keep down food or water, then there is a high suspicion that it may be suffering from a very severe infection caused by the canine parvo virus. Parvo causes vomiting , bloody diarrhea, lethargy and dehydration, sepsis, and possibly death if not treated with fluids, antibiotics, medication against vomiting, and pain medication. Another possibility would be that your puppy has swallowed a toy or something else which is now stuck in its intestines and causing a blockage. Both conditions are life threatening and you must take your puppy to a vet or emergency room ASAP. If the vet suspects an intestinal foreign body, an x-ray is required. Sometimes foreign bodies can pass if small enough, but more often than not surgery or endoscopy is required to remove them. If your puppy keeps vomiting and not keeping down fluids or food and gets lethargic you need to take it to a vet tonight.
