My dog has severe diarrhea and vomiting. Do I need an emergency vet?

Marshall has experienced diarrhea since Thursday-- on and off, but now it has gotten worse to the point where it is all liquid and he went out multiple times last night. Had energy yesterday but seems tired today. He is eating only chicken and white rice, but threw that up this morning as well. Vet isn't open until Monday--do you think I should bring him to an animal hospital? Considered giving him sweet potato to help (he has never has it before so was unsure about adding something new).

At this point nothing you will give orally is going to help, i would not recommend waiting until Monday as it sounds like he needs medical treatment ASAP, i would definitely advise to take him to the hospital today if you can.
