Cat breathing heavily, not eating, and stomach moving. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | British Shorthair | Female | spayed | 5 years and 5 months old

My cat is breathing heaving for the past week and today she isn't eating much. I am not sure if it's because of anxiety as we have had a big party and lots of people coming over this past week please help ! Also her stomach is moving up and down, in and out constantly

She seems to have severe abdominal breathing, which is a very serious and severe symptom, it could be due to heart failure or severe asthma, you must take her to the vet urgently in order to get it diagnosed and treated, she will need to have an xray done.
