My 7-week-old puppy is vomiting and has diarrhea but acts normal. Is it parvo?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 24 days old | 7.5 lbs

My pup is puking and having runny poo. Other than that he is acting normal. He is 7 weeks old. Could it be parvo or something environmental that he ate.

Parvovirus is likely and can be easily diagnosed by your veterinarian with a simple test. However, parasites or even an obstruction are also a possibility. I advise you to take him in for testing. Best case, he is negative and your veterinarian can treat him before he gets worse.

It could indeed be parvo, it's one of the most common diseases at his age, but it could also be some other type of infection. You need to take him to the vet ASAP in order to get tested for parvo and treated for the gastrointestinal infection.
