I think my dog ate chocolate he first threw up chunks of his food (I think) early in the morning then he went diarrhea everywhere on my floor , so I left him out my room thinking he was just being bad , but then he threw up in my sisters room this white mucus snot stuff and now he keeps throwing up mucus occasionally today and he went poop again and this is still early in the morning. Usually when he's sick we make rice... shall we make him rice ? How can I make my dog feel better please?

Poor Eli! He sounds quite ill, based on your description. Since he is having pretty severe vomiting and diarrhea, it would really be best to take him to an emergency vet today - especially if he ate some chocolate, this may be a life-threatening problem that can't wait until tomorrow.

Hello, & thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I am sorry no one has addressed your question this evening. At this point in time, it is just a watch & wait situation. If the vomiting continues, or he develops any diarrhea, you will need to see your veterinarian, There really should have not been enough chocolate, even in a large brownie, to make Sabre too sick. But every dog is an individual & will react differently to substances. You might feed him a bland diet of 25% boiled chicken & 75% white rice in very small amounts frequently for the next day or so. Hopefully this will take care of things.

Daisy sounds very sick at the moment, and if she ate chocolate, she could be suffering from chocolate toxicity. Given her current symptoms, immediately veterinary attention is best for her. Please take her into an ER vet clinic right away; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. The problem with dark chocolate in a small dog is that it may lead to heart and blood pressure problems that you cannot see - but that urgently need medications to treat. Also, vomiting and diarrhea can be so severe that fluids (under the skin or IV) are needed to replace the losses and prevent dehydration. I'd STRONGLY recommend contacting the PetPoison Helpline. (855) 764-7661 There is a fee for this service but it's less than a vet emergency room visit. They can tell you whether her condition is likely to worsen and to seek emergency medical care. They'll also tell you if she is likely to be just fine and to monitor at home. Best wishes to you and Phoebe!
