My dog has bloody stool and won't eat after antibiotics. What to do?

Hi i would like to asi you for an advice on our dog stool with blood. He was using antibiotis for 5 days with slight improvement but today he had did not want to eat and had blooded stool - picture in attachment. What tratment would you recomend? With thanks in advance and kind regards,Sabina

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach, Sabina! I can see that Oliver has severely bloody stool. This can be caused by imbalance of the bacteria in the gut due to the antibiotics, if they have been given for another condition. This can also be caused by severe parasitic infections, bacterial infections, and conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease. I recommend having Oliver seen by the vet who prescribed the antibiotics, as they may recommend a probiotic to add to his treatment, or discontinue/switch the antibiotics.
