Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Female | unspayed | 7 years and 6 months old | 10 lbs
My 7 year old Pug has been throwing up and having diarrhea for last two days she is eating and drinking fine. A little history she has acid reflex & is very sensitive to foods (chicken, grain, etc.) I have noticed today only some blood on her pee pad (she uses during cold weather spoiled) she could very well be starting her period as she is not fixed but I am worried about it. Also I did introduce a new food 2 weeks ago which she has been loving it.

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! While Zoey may be starting her cycle, the fact that she has been having diarrhea and vomiting for several days is cause for concern. This may be caused by inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, intestinal parasites, or even a foreign body or obstruction. If you are concerned that the blood may be in Zoey's stool, I recommend having her seen by her vet to rule out the conditions above. You can bring a stool sample in a disposable container to help your vet rule out intestinal parasites quickly. I hope this helps and that all is well!

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. I am sorry to hear that Zoee is not feeling well. If she has not eaten in 4 days, this could explain why her poop looks irregular. I am not concerned about the stool, I am more concerned about why she has not eaten in 4 days. I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I would start with testing her blood to see if there are any abnormalities and consider abdominal x-rays if the blood test is normal. I hope Zoee feels better soon! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further!
