My 55 lb lab puppy ate two small pieces of chocolate cake. Should I induce vomiting? Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 9 months and 1 day old | 55 lbs

Silly Teddy! If he is 55 lbs, I am not very concerned for chocolate toxicity unless there are dark chocolate chips or something along that line. (If he is 23 lbs as listed on the profile or if there are dark chocolate chips, head to the vet for a safe way to induce vomiting.) I would NOT induce vomiting at home. Using peroxide can actually damage the gut lining so I avoid it unless it is an emergency. I would monitor Teddy and if he starts vomiting, head into the vet for further evaluation.
