My dog has bloody diarrhea for days, meds not helping. What to do?

My dog has had diarrhea for about 2-3 days and today she had blood in it for the first time. I’ve been giving her Dawin tablets 3 times a day but it doesn’t seem to be helping. What can I do to help her? The vet gave me the tablets and metronidazole but it seems to be getting worse not better. Pet's info: Dog | Great Dane | Female | spayed | 2 years and 7 months old

If there is blood in the diarrhea today then she should go back to the veterinarian as soon as possible. Sometimes it can become a serious condition called hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, which can be very dangerous. Hydration is very important in these cases. I also usually recommend probiotic therapy in these cases. Pro viable is my favorite brand, but prostora and fortiflora are helpful too. Best of luck and I hope she improves soon.
