Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 8 months and 4 days old | 7 lbs
Hi! I’ve noticed 3 bald spots on my cat. 1 on his stomach, 1 under his neck, & 1 b/w his fingers on his front paw. The one on his stomach has a little pimple in the middle of the bald spot, the one under his chin looks like a small pimple that has scabbed over, and I can’t seem to see if there is a pimple b/w his fingers but he won’t stop licking/biting at it. I haven’t changed his food and he’s otherwise acting normal. Any idea what could be causing this? Thank you!

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. There are multiple skin conditions that can present similar to what you are describing. Conditions such as ringworm, fleas, bacterial skin infection, etc. Can cause these symptoms. I typically recommend having a veterinarian examine the skin so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. He may need to go on a course of an oral antibiotic or antifungal drug depending on what the cause is. Topical therapy alongside systemic medications can greatly increase the chance of resolution. If you are unable to get to your veterinarian right away, I would recommend the below products, which can be found online quite easily. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further. 1. Douxo PS chlorhexidine combination shampoo and bathe twice weekly until the infection is resolved 2. Malacetic conditioning spray and apply to the area until resolved 3. Essential 6 spot on by dermoscent 4. Making sure a flea and tick product is being used such as frontline or nexgard.
