My 7-week puppy has red spots & needs shots. What should I do?

My puppy has these like rashes. Or hard red spots on his body I dont know what they are, what should I do? He is 7 weeks old and has not had his shots I also want to ask what kinds of shots does he need?

Wonder could be suffering from a skin infection called puppy pyoderma, an allergic reaction, or he could have fleas, mites, or ringworm. The only way to know what is causing these rashes is to take him into the vet. The vet can diagnose the cause and can treat him for it. At seven weeks old, he is old enough for his vaccines. He will need his DHPPi (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza). Have him seen by a vet to get these done as well. The vet can discuss his vaccine schedule to get him fully vaccinated. It looks like he has a mild dermatitis/impetigo. You could try over the counter Vetericyn Spray and see if it resolves. Otherwise, he should be examined by a vet for treatment. He may need an oral antibiotic to treat.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! It sounds like you are describing perfectly a bacterial skin infection. If it is all over his body he should see a Vet for oral antibiotics. You can try a medicated shampoo by bathing him twice weekly and leaving the later on for 10 minutes before rinsing. At 8 weeks he should be seeing a Vet now for vaccinations, deworming and starting heart worm and flea/tick prevention. I need help. My 5 month old pup has these rashy-like spots on his back. I would like to know what it is and how to treat it
Puppies have very sensitive skin and can be prone to skin infections. Benji may have puppy pyoderma. Without seeing him in person, I can't diagnose what is causing his symptoms. I'd have him seen by a vet to have this diagnosed and treated. Best of luck.

What a cutie! I get nervous with young ones- I would recommend taking him I to see a veterinarian. They can diagnose what is going on and prescribe a treatment. Hi, I found my puppy (see photos attached) red spot, what is it?
This presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths.

My lab puppy is just 6 months old and is suffering from red spots on her lower abdomen (2) and one in neck. Is she suffering from impetigo?? Please help I'm really worried
It could be that Pixie is suffering from puppy pyoderma, which is a skin infection. She could also have petechiae, which is tiny pin points of blood caused by a bleeding disorder. Without seeing her in person, there is no way I can say for certain what is cousin these red spots. The only way to know for sure is to have her seen by a vet. The vet can diagnose what is causing these spots on her skin and can treat her for it.

If this puppy was born on April 13th, then she is too young to have gotten any vaccines. She will be five weeks of age when you get her, and puppies are not old enough to be first vaccinated until they are six to eight weeks of age. I would make an appointment with a vet for a week after you get her to start her vaccines. She will not be fully vaccinated until she has three series of her DHPPi combination shot (distemper, hepatitis, parvo, parainfluenza) each given four weeks apart. Until that time, she should not be allowed in public, do not take her for walks, and only have her potty in your backyard. She will be susceptible to catching parvo and distemper until she is fully vaccinated, and since those are so deadly, you want to avoid it. The vet will go over the vaccine schedule with you, and discuss getting her rabies vaccines as well (that is required by law). If you are talking about the circular areas on her skin along her lower abdomen and the small red areas on her belly, you might be seeing evident of a puppy pyoderma. Pyoderma is an overgrowth of the normal bacteria on the skin. It is very common in puppies and can appear as small red areas, red bumps, white bumps, crusts (scabs), or even rings (called collarettes). Pyodermas in puppies sometimes require antibiotics, but are often easy to resolve with medicated wipes, so your veterinarian may recommend those. Good luck! This could be a condition known as puppy pyoderma. It's roughly the equivalent of acne in adolescent humans. It usually clears up as your puppy gets older and there isn't any treatment needed unless it gets really bad. If so, get him in to see your vet and they can prescribe antibiotics and topical treatment as needed. You can bathe him with a mild, oatmeal-based shampoo for dogs and lukewarm water to help clear the rash and soothe his skin.
