My 9-month-old dog threw up blood but seems fine. Vet needed?

Blood in the vomit indicates stomach lining inflammation or ulceration. Causes of vomiting are: foreign body ingestion, parasites, viral/bacterial infections, toxin ingestion, pancreatitis, irritable bowel, food sensitivities or he ate something that didn't agree with him. If Simba is bright and happy then you can try fasting him and restarting food and water tomorrow. Feed a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed small frequent meals about 3/4 cup total per day. then call your Vet in the morning. If he continues to vomit while being fasted he should be seen tonight. If it was the one episode of vomiting and he is otherwise acting normally then I would be concerned but not panicked. I would watch him for the next 24 hours to see what happens.
