Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 9 months and 3 days old | 48 lbs
I gave my dog his heartworm medicine last month and round hook worms were in his stool. He got blood tested and everything was negative. He was dewormed and was good. Two days ago i gave him his second one, he threw up yesterday morning. He ate his breakfast. But not his dinner or breakfast today. Hes been acting weird and just sleeping where hes ususally very active. Is it the heart worm medicine ?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! He could be reacting to that brand of heartworm medication. If he was normal before then it is likely. I would discuss with your Vet trying a different brand. Consider purchasing only 1 month at a time until you know he can tolerate it. Try not to give any other medications on that day. I would start a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20lbs per day. If he stops eating and continues to vomit then I would have your Vet take a look at him. I hope this helps and I wish Kayne the best!
