The guy I bought my puppy from said he gave her the first parvo shot but I'm not sure if he did. Should I give her the 1st round again or the 2nd round booster?

It depends on how old she is. I recommend waiting two weeks then giving the booster. She will need at least two more vaccinations, the last one being when she is at least fourteen weeks old. Please keep she away from other dogs until she’s fully vaccinated. She can get her rabies vaccination at four months. And depending on your area she should be started on heartworm prevention soon. Hi there and thanks for posting on Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Vaccine booster rounds are typically given when puppies are 8 weeks old (no sooner due to maternal antibody interference) and given every 3-4 weeks until they have have 3 rounds of Distemper-Adenovirus-Parvovirus-Parainfluenza (the DAPP vaccine), 2 rounds of Bordetella (kennel cough), and 1 round of the Rabies vaccines which is typically given between 12-16 weeks old depending on what state you live in. If they received their first round on the 4th, then they will not be due until the last week of November or Dec 4th at the latest. If they are 8 weeks old now and have no yet had their Parvo vaccine, then they need to have 3 rounds of the parvovirus vaccine or better yet the 3 rounds of the DAPP vaccine which covers distemper as well as the other important viruses. I hope this helps and thanks for posting.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! We recommend the DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo and Parainfluenza) vaccine be started around 7-8 weeks of age and be boostered every 3 weeks until the dog received TWO past 12 weeks of age. So If Penelope got one at 12 weeks she should have another at 15-16 weeks. Have a good day!
