I suggest you separate the male and female now and continue to keep them separated as she can get pregnant again hours after giving birth. Consider having at least one of them (either your male or the female) fixed to prevent more litters otherwise you will need to keep them permanently separated. So male rabbits cannot be spayed, they can be castrated. Are you 100% that they are all done, and that you dont have a female who is actually a male? One of these must be the case. You could ask the vet to spay her whilst pregnant, it is more risky though. You could just wait until the rabbits are born and have them euthanized.

You can keep your male and female rabbits completely separate, this will prevent them from breeding with each other but your male rabbit can still show aggression due to hormonal influences. The only safe way to keep your rabbit from breeding is to have him neutered or her spayed. You will need to make an appointment with the vet to have that done. I'd call your vet to discuss it. Mounting behavior is not unusual but I would recommend to have both rabbits checked out to be sure they are both males! You definitely don't want a bunch of baby rabbits! Male rabbits can sometimes become aggressive so neutering them is a good option to decrease aggression. This unfortunately happens sometimes where their bond is broken around the time they reach sexual maturity. It is wise to keep them seperated, because the mounting seems like aggressive behavior. However, I would have a vet double-check the sex of these two. I have seen many rabbits that were mistakenly identified as females, when they were actually males. This would also explain the mating behavior. You should also consider having them spayed/neutered at this age. I prefer to do this surgery around this age and it's quite safe when in an experienced surgeons hands. They will often cease the aggressive/mounting behavior after this procedure is done; and it saves from having a litter of unwanted bunnies...which is a big problem. Gestation is short, about 4 weeks. They can mate as soon as a few days after kindling (giving birth), so it would be recommended to separate them until you can determine genders and pregnancy status. Thanks for reaching out about Bun Bun. This question has been addressed once before but there recommendation is to have Bun Bun spayed, and Fluffy neutered also (if not). Intact female spays have an increased incidence of uterine cancer but also tend to fight more. Talk to a veterinarian in your locale. Good luck.

Hi! It is possible that after Mistie is spayed she will accept the other rabbit. However, just like people, some rabbit personalities just don’t ever get along. So I’d have your rabbits spayed and neutered and do a gradual introduction in neutral areas as you suggested. But realize the pairing might not take and be ready to intervene and separate them if necessary. When rabbits don’t get along, they can be quite aggressive and harm one another. Also, keep in mind that even after a male rabbit is neutered, he can store sperm for up to 28 days! Of course, this won’t be an issue if you have Mistie spayed.
