My dog has bloody skin lumps and new body odor. What's happening?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 10 years and 5 months old | 36 lbs

My 9 year old beagle/blue heeler mix girl has a couple little white lumps on her skin (tiny, maybe 1 centimeter), there is dried blood around them. What could this be? She also all of a sudden has a little bit of body odor.

It is possible that she has a skin infection, called pyoderma. I would encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian soon. She may need antibiotics or possibly a medicated shampoo. If it is not an infection they may recommend biopsy of the bumps. Best of luck and I hope she improves soon. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
