How to make sure my kitten still likes car rides after neutering?

so my kitten (4 months old) actually LOVES his carrier and car rides. he is a great traveler, which is extra important to me because i'm a college student and i have to drive 3.5 hours between home and campus a few times a year. but i have to take him to the vet this week to be neutered and i'm worried he will stop liking the car after the scary experience. what can i do to make sure he won't have negative associations with the car and the carrier? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 4.5 lbs

After his neuter, keep taking him places in the car with you. Keep some treats on hand, bring his favorite toy and make the trips a pleasant, enjoyable experience. Take to a friend's house, just to ride through the drive-thru, whatever so that he associates car rides with fun.
