Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 11 months and 18 days old
I’m stressed out I can’t keep on chasing after my cat I was changing the litter and Catori throught hat was the chance for her to dart out her room . She always misbehave with me especially when she is tired she listens to my mom I guess because my mom has more of a stern voice then me . I tried to bribe Catori back in her room with treats but it didn’t work . I’m getting exhausted telling her multiple times not to do the same stuff. Pet corrector spray only works a little I’m used to dogs

I’m sorry you’re having to chase Catori! Unfortunately, curiosity is a normal behavior for a young cat- it is not misbehavior. In addition, training cats to stay in one place is usually not effective. Is there a reason she is not allowed out of that particular room? Perhaps you can try making her room more appealing by adding a cat tree or some toys? If these are not options, you’ll have to either let her out to explore or find a way to keep her away from the door when you open and close it. Best of luck to you and Catori!

Thank you for using PetCoach. It sounds like you would like to know how to make Catori listen to you and to stay in her room. If she is confined to one room, and frequently trying to escape, it probably means she is bored. Environmental enrichment, or making a pet's surrounding more exciting, is an important part of pet ownership. Leaving a pet confined and isolated to a small space is a good way to cause behavior problems. Playing with your cat, adding new toys, food puzzles or games can be a way to relieve some of this boredom. Here is a link that shares some ideas. https://www.petcoach.co/article/the-importance-of-play-for-you-and-your-cat/ When something like pet corrector spray is used repeatedly, pets will begin to ignore this punishment. Positive reinforcement and rewarding good behavior is a better way to train pets. I hope this helps.
