When to vaccinate a 2-month-old kitten? Are cat scratches risky?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | spayed

I have a Persian cat of 2 months and he isn’t given any vaccination. At what age should I give her vaccination? Nd what if she scratches me will I get my disease?

We generally recommend starting kitten vaccinations between 6 and 8 weeks of age, so Ally can see your vet to have her first vaccination anytime. We certainly see some bacterial infections from cat scratches, but that doesn't have anything to do with her vaccination status. Any cat scratches should be cleaned well with soap immediately to prevent the potential for infection. I hope that was helpful and answered your questions.
