My picky cat has food allergies and won't eat her special diet.

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 6 years and 1 month old | 13 lbs

I have a long haired domestic cat her name is Callie, she has food allergies ,I have bought her2 different kinds of expensive food that is grain free and I can't get her to eat any of it wet or dry , she has been seen by her Vet she is healthy except the allergies , she was getting steroid shots but was told that it wasn't good to give them to her for a long period of time,I you know what I can do to get her to eat what is good for her? Thank you.

If she won’t eat the food that is being offered, keep trying alternative suitable diets until you find one that is palatable to her. There are many options for novel protein or hypoallergenic diets. You can also try a home Cooked diet as an alternative.

    There are two different options when trying to manage food allergies - a specialist hydrolyzed diet such as royal canin hypoallergenic (food particles broken down so that the immune system cannot recognize and react to them) or a novel protein diet - feeding only ingredients which she has never eaten before. For a ho.e prepared, novel diet i recommend you contact tufts nutrition clinic for advice on suitable recipes. Any diet trial must be fed exclusively for 6-8weeks in order to assess response, after which other foods may be reintroduced slowly, monitoring closely for any recurrence of signs indicating the culprit triggers
