Ringworm outbreak: Is my kitten safe after vet spay procedure?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Himalayan | Female | spayed | 4 months and 11 days old | 2.4 lbs

I heard that my area had a ringworm outbreak. My kitten was in the vet to get “fixed” is it possible she would of gotten it? There is no sigh of it but I’m just paranoid

Most veterinary clinics practice good hygeine to prevent infectious disease exposure so I think it would be unlikely. In a vet clinic two cats would not have contact with each other and would not be able to contact the same bedding or towels. Surfaces are disinfected between patients, and caution is used when handling animals if a zoonotic (transmissible to people) disease like ringworm was suspected. I would think it would be very unusual for Diva to be exposed.
