My dog ate a medical bandage like Duoderm thin. Is he okay now?

I'd agree that this is definitely a concern. Many dogs eat bandages. Typically the material passes through normally but do monitor him closely for any GI distress - vomiting, reluctance to eat, diarrhea - that might indicate it's having trouble passing.

Trick did eat a good size piece of vet wrap! Hopefully, it will pass through without problem, but I would monitor him to be safe for signs of obstruction just in case. These signs include vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, lethargy, and constipation. If you see any of those signs, I would take Trick into the vet right away. If he is a larger dog, it should pass without problem, but it's always good to observe him to be safe.

Don't worry, this is unlikely to cause any issues. Most small pieces of plastic and cloth and other material pass just fine in the stool, if the puppy doesn't vomit it up first. The bandaid itself could make Scout's stomach upset, but it won't give him an infection. If you do see some GI upset, withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. Otherwise he should be just fine. I hope this helps!

I would expect so yes. Usually it would have caused a blockage or some type of symptoms by now or he would have passed it by now. Continue to keep an eye out for any weird behavior but I bet he is going to be okay!

You can give your vet a call, and bring Justice in for the vet to induce vomiting if she ate the bandaid within the past 2 hours. If it has been over 2 hours, all you can do is wait and see what happens. You will need to keep an eye on your dog’s stools to see if the object passes through your dogs system as well as for signs of fresh blood or mucus. Fresh blood or mucus indicates inflammation within the large intestine while dark black or tarry looking stools indicate bleeding in the upper digestive tract. If your dog’s stools become black then your dog should see a vet immediately. If your dog begins to vomit, has a lot of diarrhea, becomes unresponsive to you or squats without having a bowel movement then you should take her to the vet immediately as well. As long as your dog is acting normally just monitor your dog closely to be sure the object passes through your dog's system. It probably will pass through his system with no problem though.

He may be experiencing symptoms of having a gastrointestinal obstruction though other things like dietary indiscretion, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, among other things could also be going on. For this reason, I recommend that you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible to ensure that this does not become worse and to see if he will require therapy such as surgery if he is in fact having an obstruction. I would expect that something like this would most likely pass through Gg’s gastrointestinal tract without a problem, however plastic can get stuck at any point. If you notice vomiting, diarrhea or a decreased appetite I’d recommend contacting your vet right away.
