My rabbit is sneezing and wheezing. What can I do without a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed

My rabbit is sneezing and wheezing but otherwise seems to be in good health. There are no veterinary clinics that care for rabbits where I am in Turkey. Is there anything I can do without medical attention? The other two rabbits are fine.

Hi and thank you for your question, It is likely a respiratory infection often referred to as "snuffles". It generally requires antibiotic treatment and it's best to separate Tony from the other rabbits. I would ask your local vet if he/she could read about snuffles/pasteurella in rabbits and prescribe the needed treatment. Regards
