My cat's leg is swollen and painful, but there's no wound. What's wrong?

My cat hurted his leg and it's swollen nad bigger than the other one. I tried petting him on the head and he didn't let me,he just meowed. He doesn't have any bumps or wounds. His head is clear too. He eats normally. Is he gonna be okay? How can i help him? Please answer as soon as possible. Thank you. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 5 days old

It sounds like your cat may have an abscess in the swollen leg. I recommend getting him seen by your vet as soon as possible for an exam and treatment. An abscess can form from a single claw mark, which then is invisible since it will close up, trapping bacteria under the skin.
