Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 2 years and 6 months old
One of our cats started vomiting, we narrowed down to Thor. We noticed one large and some small vomit piles this morning of churned up food I assume. And since it has been several more piles of vomit through the day. However now it is just bile. About an hour ago it was bright yellow bile. Now it is dark brown. Is it serious or do I wait through the night and see if he keeps vomiting through the night? No dietary or environmental changes other than being on dry again after wet the past few days

Chronic vomiting is definitely cause for concern. It can be an indication of an obstruction, an inflamed intestinal tract, or dietary indiscretion. I recommend not giving Thor any food over night, and having him seen by a vet tomorrow morning. If Thor becomes lethargic at any point or unresponsive, he should be seen by a vet immediately. I hope all is well!

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I am sorry to hear Swirl isn't feeling well. With that much vomiting and diarrhea, I would be concerned for something serious going on internally. I recommend taking Swirl to a vet right away. The picture looks a lot more like diarrhea than vomit, but either way, it is not normal. The vet will perform an exam and probably recommend diagnostic testing. I would start with a stool sample to check for microscopic parasites. They may also need to check blood work and x-rays for metabolic problems or gastrointestinal obstructions. Once a diagnosis is made, they can start Swirl on a treatment to stop the vomiting and diarrhea and replenish the fluids he lost in the last few days. Good luck and kisses to Swirl!
