My 9-year-old cat has light poop with bright red blood. What's wrong?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered

My cat has been pooping light colour lately for about 4 days now. He’s been eating wild frontier nutro dry food because he doesn’t like wet food. He is 9 years old. Also today I noticed the end of his poop had bright red blood in it.

It might just be caused by something in the food that he ate. If he is otherwise acting normal then you could add a probiotic to his food, like Proviable or Fortiflora, and see if that helps. If his signs continue then he should be examined by a vet to determine if there is a problem that needs to be treated. Your vet can test a stool sample to help diagnose.
