Pregnant mare showing labor signs with unknown due date?

Hi iv rescude a mare who is pregnant i was tould the stalion got to her in late jan early feb and also again in julie fore the last week her teet are getting biger evry day and yestoday she seemed more restless she has rain scold that where trying to get rid of cause she is rolling to scrach her back also am getting worried as its my first foal and i dont no an exact date or even week

I would have an equine vet come out to examine Cleiopatra. The vet can do a rectal exam and ultrasound to confirm if she is pregnant or not. If she is pregnant, I would say she would be due soon if she was mated in late January/early February as a horse's gestation lasts 335-360 days. Along with c confirming the pregnancy, the vet can give you an estimate of how far along she is in the pregnancy. While there, the vet can treat her rain scald as well. Please have an equine vet come and see her in the next day or two. Good luck, I hope this helps!

Hello, again. As I said earlier, it depends when, or how long ago she was with the colt. Size may matter, but sometimes where there is a will, there is a way. It is possible that your mare may be trying to colic, so the best thing to do is get a vet out to check. Horses are pregnant about 330 days, & it is usually only in the last few months that you can see the foal kicking or moving inside. So if this is not the case & she is showing discomfort, have her checked as soon as possible. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Yes, she is showing some signs of mammary development but an ultrasound scan would be required in order to confirm true pregnancy. I also make her 8 weeks this weekend and generally pregnancy is expected to be 63days so she would be due next weekend at the latest. Timing can vary especially when you are unsure if she could have mated earlier and also both eggs and sperm can survive up to 5-7days before conception so there is potential for her to whelp slightly earlier or later than anticipated but by no more than 5days as a rule.

A dog's pregnancy lasts 58-68 days. If Cleo was pregnant, then she would be very close to the end of her pregnancy assuming on the 8th day of mating she become pregnant. It could also be that she is suffering from a false pregnancy. The only way to know for sure is to have her seen by a vet. I'd make an appointment with her vet to check her out to see if she's pregnant or not. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

Without examining her in person or knowing when she was bred, it would be hard to determine. Since she was found and is very skinny, it would be best to bring her to your vet anyway so they can confirm the pregnancy, treat any health issues and make sure the kittens are doing OK. If she is far enough along, they may be able to take an X-ray to determine how many kittens to expect and provide a rough estimate of her due date. Signs a cat is nearing labor can include looking for a place to nest, changes in appetite, restlessness, temperature changes, waxing of the nipples (producing a waxy milk-like substance) visible contractions, etc. If you see these signs then she may be going into labor. If she doesn't produce a kitten after several hours, seems exhausted, or in severe distress, seeking veterinary care is best to make sure there aren't any complications.

My cat is pregnant and her abdomen is pretty huge right now and I would like to know what are some signs of when she's ready to give birth. Also, I'm pretty worried about her because she's a small cat. I'm worried she won't be able to take on labor.
Pregnancy in cats lasts about 60-65 days, so if you know when she was bred you'll be able to determine when she may be due. You can also bring her into your vet for an X-ray if she is close to labor to count how many kittens to expect when she does go into labor. Signs of labor can include trying to find a place to nest, pacing and restlessness, waxing of the nipples (small waxy discharge that appears before milk comes in), active visible contractions along the body, not wanting to eat (usually a day or so before), and actively straining or going into labor. If she is in active labor for more than 24 hours without any kittens, goes more than 24 hours between kittens (if you know there are more present) while still showing signs of labor, or seems in great distress (more so than normal labor), then these are all signs of possible dystocia (difficult birth) and Kitteh should be brought to your vet ASAP for care.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sadly we can not estimate how far along Snowy is by pictures. Dogs are only pregnant for 60-63 days. By day 28 you can see puppies on ultrasound and by day 50 you can see them on X-ray. I have personally never seen a dog miscarry from stress. If she doesn't give birth by 70 days from when you got your dog neutered you need to bring her to the Vet to confirm pregnancy or whether she is experiencing a false pregnancy. If Sophie is sweating and trying to lay down or appears in distress at all I would recomend calling an equine vet now. Sweating, protruding veins can be signs of pain or discomfort and if she is constantly trying to lay down that is not typical behavior. She may be colicky or possibly miscarrying the foal. Try keeping her on her feet and walking as you get in touch with a vet. Do not let her down to roll. If she is kicking or biting at her flank those are further signs that she has abdominal pain. She is so cute!! It sounds like she is close. Cats are pregnant for an average of 63 days. Usually you can express milk from the ducts approx 24 hrs before birth. I would recommend getting her examined to be sure she has a healthy birth

283 days is the typical gestation length for a cow, so if she is close to her due date and off her feed it may be that she is going into labor. You may notice strange behavior, swelling of the vulva, an increased amount of milk in her udders, and the beginning of discharge. However, if she seems in great distress, doesn't go into labor and produce a calf, or seems to be in labor and can't pass the calf, it would be best to seek veterinary care in person immediately as the calf may be stuck and need to be pulled, or there may be an underlying illness causing issue.
