Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 6 days old | 17 lbs
Hello! I reacently got a new golden retriever puppy. Last night I noticed his eye was slightly blood shot but presumed it was tiredness. Tonight again I noticed his eye went blood shot but he started closing it and also there’s a white gooey substance like sleep in his eye. Also he tends to roll this eye back a bit. I was wondering if it was an infection or something Worse. He’s eating and drinking fine. Any help would be appreciated Regards, Hazel.

Poor Benelly! This sounds like a little eye infection or a corneal ulcer. Since he is favoring that eye by squinting, I would have your vet take a look at him. Your vet will be able to determine exactly what is causing the irritation and start him on the proper eye drops if needed. I hope this helps!
