Why is my kitten hiding and avoiding touch after a vet table fall?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | unneutered | 3.2 lbs

I took in a very sick, abandoned kitten about three weeks ago, and he has been very attached to me. His health has since dramatically improved. However, at a vet visit last week he took a tumble off the exam table, and since then he has been hiding from attention and being touched. His vet said he's just getting used to me...I think it's something more. Who is right?

He could be just getting use to you but he could also be a little scared since he fell off the table. I would just continue to show him a lot of TLC and positive attention. Some cats as they get older they become less affectionate and more independent. If he isn't wanting to play and stops eating, then I would have your vet do another exam on him to ensure he is okay. I hope this helps! And thank you for adopting Chance. He is a lucky boy to have found such an amazing family.
