Why is my dog's lip lump bleeding and purple? What should I do?

my dog has a blood filled lump slightly purple just bigger than a pea attached to his lower lip which has recently become agitated or swollen and now bleeds if he catches it. any idea what this could be. Pet's info: Dog | American Bulldog | Male | neutered | 5 years and 7 months old

This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I am really hoping for something benign.
