Should I worry about my pitbull puppy's green eye discharge?

Pet's info: Dog | American Staffordshire Terrier | Male | neutered | 3 months and 10 days old | 79 lbs

My pitbull puppy has green discharge coming from his left eye and last night he had some to I think it was in the right eye last night though but I can't say for sure. Should I be worried about him cause I am!

Yes, I would be concerned in that it isn't normal to have green discharge from the eye. This can be a sign of an eye infection. I would take Hercules into the vet first thing in the morning to have his eyes examined. The vet can diagnose if he does have an eye infection, and can prescribe medication to treat it. It's important to have any eye problem examined and treated promptly because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Good luck, I hope this helps!

Hello! So the discharge from Capone’s eye could be due to an eye infection. Any eye problem needs to be checked out by a vet promptly as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I’d take him into a vet today or tomorrow. As for the discharge from his penis, this may be normal. It could be smegma, which is a discharge that comes from the penile sheath. Just to be safe, have the vet check it out when you bring him in for his eyes. Best of luck.

Your puppy should see a veterinarian right away. It appears that she has an eye infection and without seeing it in person, it is impossible to evaluate the condition of the cornea or surface of the eye. It is always best to have eye problems diagnosed and treated within the first 24 hours of symptoms to make sure the problem does not progress. Your pup will at least require some prescription eye medication and possibly other mess depending on the severity of the problem.

Hi, I have a german shepherd pup of 36 days. I took him to the vet hi checked the temp he said everything is fine but now their is a greenish yellow mucus from one of the eyes.. Is this normal i have never had a dog, this is my first.
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This mild amount of discharge if it is just periodically and not constant then it is probably normal. However, if this becomes consistent and more severe, have him reevaluated by your veterinarian as this may be due to a corneal injury for example. Best of luck!

I woulIt sounds as your dog is suffering from an eye infection, it is relatively common in dogs. you will need to take him to the vet the first chance you get, the vet will check the eyes, if it is indeed a simple eye infection your vet will prescribe an antibiotic eye drops that will probably solve the problem in no time.d not recommend to clean it with salt water.

Hello, I currently have a Shiba Inu mix and I wanted to know if it's normal for my dog to have green eye boogers come every hour. Should I take him to the vet for a check up or is it normal?
Clear nasal discharge is considered normal if not profuse, green however would indicate a potential infection. I would advise taking Archie in to the vet. The veterinarian will be able to take a swab of the discharge to tell if it is an infection and if so what type. The vet will also be able to find the source of the infection; for example nasal passages or within the lungs. A treatment plan can then be made with you.

It sounds like Hercules could have a mild conjunctivitis. Unless he had direct contact with the other dog it's unlikely he caught it from him. Allergies are a common cause as well. If the discharge is clear it could be normal for his breed as Yorkies can commonly have epiphora (tearing). However, if he's rubbing at his eyes, the discharge is yellow or green, or the whites of his eyes are red, it could be an infection and he should see a vet. He may need eye drops in order for it to clear up. Good luck!

Hi! I rescued a dog and her puppies from the street about 3 weeks ago. The mom has gushing from her eyes, greenish sometimes. It has not disappeared even though I have cleansed her eye many times. Now it seems one of her puppies is getting the same
It's probably some kind of infection that should be seen by a veterinarian. Without an exam there's no way to know just what the cause is and therefore finding the correct treatment is difficult. Keeping it clean is helpful, but she may need antibiotics and topical medication to clear the infection and keep it from spreading further to the rest of the pips.

Unfortunately no, there are no OTC medications you can use on Bella's eye. If she has green pus, that can indicate an eye infection and she needs to see a vet right away. The eye is such a delicate and important structure that any problem with it should be considered an emergency. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take Bella into an ER vet now to diagnose and treat her eye.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Lincoln. I do recommend that he sees his veterinarian. With his eye being red and having green discharge, he likely has an infection. This can be a simple infection or it could be the consequence of an underlying disease. For example, a scratch across the surface of the eye is known as a corneal ulcer. This is diagnosed by placing a drop of dye on the eye. There is a also condition known as dry eye where the body does not produce adequate eye. His veterinarian can measure his tear production. Finally, he could have a foreign object such as a piece of grass trapped under his third eyelid. The treatment varies between conditions and his veterinarian will decide based on his exam and eye tests. I hope this information helps!

It could be that Belle has an eye infection. Any eye problem needs to be checked out promptly by a vet, as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Yes, I would see if you can get her into another vet sooner.
