Why is my overweight cat having bloody diarrhea and peeing inside?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 8 years and 8 months old | 12 lbs

I have an overweight cat that's experienced bladder problems, and severe constipation. Earlier in the week, she peed on the bathroom rug and now today has left 2 liquid stools with blood on the rug and peed on it again (it's been washed 3 times today with bleach) beware, I'm attaching a photo of the last stool pile. Our vet is on vacation, so I'm kind of lost...he knows her history and past issues

You do nothave to worry about cinstipation with bloody diarrhea. She may have an infection or inflammatory bowel that is causes part of these symptoms. Since there is blood in the stool she needs to be checked to see what medicine can be given. You can try to switch to a sensitive stomach formula food and add a feline probiotic to help replenish normal bacteria until you can get seen
