Poor Capone! This vomiting could be caused by a GI illness, eating something rotten, a foreign body, or pancreatitis among other causes. I would be worried in that it's not normal for a dog to vomit. If he has stopped vomiting, I can give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Good luck, I hope this helps and thank you for contacting Pet Coach with your concerns about Capone.

I don't know if I'd be too concerned just yet, but if Stacy continues to vomit you definitely want her checked out by a veterinarian. Vomiting in a younger dog can be a result of a GI obstruction so it's important not to wait too long if the vomiting continues. In the meantime you can wait a couple hours and then try offering Stacy a small meal of boiled chicken and sweet potato or rice to settle her stomach. If she continues to vomit or other signs of illness develop (diarrhea, inappetance or lethargy) I would recommend taking her to see a veterinarian. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach and I hope Stacy is feeling better soon!
