Cat vomiting & not eating after kidney surgery. When to call vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Male | 6 years old | 11 lbs

My cat recently had a kidney removed because he has polysystic disease. My vet put him on reglan syrup plus ID digestive food to stimulate his appetite and prevent him from vomiting. It worked, but now he is off both of them for 2 days and he vomited last night and isn't eating as much and his poop is brown and white. What could this mean? Should I see my vet or wait a little? He is an indoor cat.

Hello. Given the seriousness of his kidney disease, & the subsequent surgery, I would call your veterinarian. Waiting is just not an option for cats because they can become so much sicker very quickly. I hope Ashton is feeling better soon. Thank you.
