Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Male | neutered | 13 years and 3 months old | 75 lbs
My dog has a bloody protrusion next to his annus, with some swelling to the surrounding area. I'm guessing it's a hernia but it didn't really resemble the pictures I found online. Sorry for the poor quality photo (and subject matter), he wouldn't hold still. Any advice as to what it could be and potential treatments would be greatly appreciated as my husband does not want to take him to the vet if the treatment is going to end up being to let it heal on it's own.

It is possible that what you are seeing is a ruptured anal gland. Dogs have anal glands on either side of the anus that normally secrete a fluid when dogs defecate. If an anal gland does not normally empty, it can abscess and rupture externally (which often results in bleeding adjacent to the anus). I am attaching a link to a handout on anal glands below. http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=625 I would recommend having your veterinarian examine Bok to see if that is what is going on. Anal gland ruptures sometimes need to be expressed or flushed, but often are able to be resolved with antibiotics and pain medications. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using PetCoach.
