Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 15 lbs

my cat had major abdominal surgery dec 22,2017. today he was fighting with my other cat so i put my hands under his 2 front arms and picked him up without supporting his bottom. he isn’t showing any signs of pain, no difference in appetite. should i be concerned?

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I hope Shadow is feeling better. As it has been about three weeks since Shadow's procedure, his incisions should have mostly healed by now, and it is unlikely that picking him up this way once caused any trauma. I hope this helps and am happy to answer any other questions you may have!
