Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 17 years and 5 months old | 6 lbs
My 17 year old cat is on wet food (vet recommended) due to pain in her right jaw bone. At the vet visit they did a senior blood panel and it’s all normal range and she is used to dry food. So the wet food is causing her to have extremely soft stools where it’s a watery consistency. What can I do? It’s getting on her paws and tail so I have to clean her after she uses her box every time.

Poor Taddy! She is really cute! You could try to add a probiotic to her diet to see if this help to firm her stool. I like vetriscience's probiotic. A;so you can talk to your vet about starting diagel paste as needed. This is an all natural product that is used to firm up diarrhea. You can also try to moisten her dry food with warm water instead of doing canned food to see if that may be a little less rich for her. If this doesn't work, I would talk to you vet about starting her on some flagyl or another antibiotic if needed to help firm up the stool. Your vet may want to check a stool sample to make sure there isn't any giardia or worms present causing the diarrhea. I hope this helps!
