Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | neutered | 2 years and 10 months old | 20 lbs

hi! on jan 8th my 2 yr old pug was nurtured. he has 2 incisions bc one of his testicles didn’t drop properly. the one that isn’t in a normal spot has had two scabs and they’ve both come off. the scab in the picture came off not long ago. it shows no signs of infection. he’s also been on an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory. his post op check up is on tuesday. should i wait or take him to the vet tomorrow morning? does it look normal?

Thank you for providing pictures of Blaze's incisions, it helps with my answer to you. From the picture, I do not see any redness or swelling, which is great! I also see the area where the scab came off. At this point in time, as long as there is no sign of infection and he is eating and drinking normally, it's fine to wait until Tuesday to have him seen by the vet. Make sure he doesn't lick at the area, putting an Ecollar on him in case he tries to do that. I would rush him into the vet if the area does become red or swollen, the incision area starts bleeding, or it appears that the incision has opened up. Good luck, I hope this helps!

Thank you for the picture of Fish's incision. This scabbing looks normal, the incision doesn't look open to me in the picture, and isn't very red or irritated. It looks fine to me, no need to take him in. Keep an eye on the incision twice daily. If you see pus from the incision, the skin around the incision is red, swollen, and/or warm to the touch, the incision is open, he is lethargic, he isn't eating, and/or there are other symptoms concerning to you, take him into a vet immediately. I hope this helps!
