Poor Thumper! Diarrhea in rabbits is cause for concern as it can be caused by bacterial disturbances which can be life-threatening. The stress of a new environment, diet change, and possibly not eating/drinking for a while may have caused this. I recommend keeping a very close eye on Thumper and having him seen by a vet immediately if he has diarrhea again, loses his appetite, or is lethargic. He may need antibiotics and supportive care to get better.

Diahrrea is a serious symptom in rabbits, i strongly recommend taking him to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked and treated, he will need several medications to help stopping the diarrhea that is probably caused by a gastrointestinal infection.

Yes, very dangerous. first of all do not shake your rabbit, this is not something you should do it can harm her. secondly diarrhea in rabbits can be fatal, as a matter of fact it usually is if left untreated. you need to take her to the vet as soon as you can in order to get treatment, she will need a course of antibiotics as well as fiber supplements in order to get better.

Is diarrhoea bad for rabbits, if so how?
Diarrhea is definitely bad for rabbits. There can be multiple causes, ranging from different bacterial infections, stress, diet, parasites, and more. If your rabbit is having diarrhea they should be seen by a veterinarian for an exam as untreated it can become very dangerous as they can become dehydrated and can end up with bacteria in the bloodstream if the condiiton progresses.

Diarrhea is never normal, especially in rabbits. Have Shakespeare examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating rabbits. Submit a stool sample to diagnose intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth. Check her teeth for malocclusion or overgrowth. Feed timothy hay or similar grasses, as much as she wants. Do not offer commercial pellets, fruit or other vegetables until the stool is normal. You can also supplement with Oxbow Critical Care for Herbivores to put weight on her if she is underweight.

My rabbit having loose stool
Loose stools in rabbits is a very severe sign, you must take her to the vet ASAP in order to get it treated, failure to do so will most probably lead to her death very soon. loose stools are usually caused by a gastrointestinal infection and requires antibiotic treatment as well as a special fiber supplement.

Moist stool can be the result of intestinal problems (dietary, parasites, bacterial), metabolic (liver, kidney), stress, inappropriate nutrition, reproductive disease (uterine infection, neoplasia), spondylosis, and other problems. Reduce diet to hay only, no vegetables for now, no pellets. A veterinary visit is recommended to assist with a diagnostic and treatment plan. Good luck.

Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. Make sure Penelope's diet is proper. stop all leafy greens & fresh vegetables. She should have no more than 1/4 cup of fresh rabbit pellets, & a body size pile of timothy hay. Tomorrow, take a sample of her stool for analysis to your vet. They will see if she has any intestinal parasites including coccidia. Based on this, your vet may recommend putting her on a diet of Critical care to increase fiber, or if she needs antibiotics. Hello. There are just too many questions that need to be answered in order to offer any advice. The best thing is to have your bunny examined by a veterinarian who can check Laddu for intestinal parasites, discuss the diet you are feeding her & possibly start her on a Critical Care diet & possibly antibiotics. There is no way for me to know if this is infectious, parasitic or a dysbiosis, so a good evaluation is imperative. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

My rabbit is having continious loose motion and not eating anything..severe weakness
These symptoms are extremely serious, Snow needs to be taken to the vet urgently, loose motion is often fatal in rabbits if not treated on time, he will probably need antibiotics, a special food supplement and medications to promote appetite in order to get better.

My bunny has no eyes, he has small holes that I believe are sockets but no eyes and he has diarrhea. What should i do and what’s going on with him
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This could have been a birth defect perhaps if it has been going on this entire time. Diarrhea can be observed with gastrointestinal parasites for example. I highly recommend that you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check on the possible cause of the diarrhea so that it can be treated and why his eyes are not apparent. Good luck!
