Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | 10 lbs
My cat is 12 years old. I noticed today that he has lost fur by his ears. I have not changed his diet. We moved in August & for the first few days I kept Smokey in the house. He is an indoor & out door cat. He has not been out since Christmas due to the weather. What could cause Smokey's loss of fur? Thank you.

He may be overgrooming since being stuck in the house due to the weather. This is a stress reaction. If his ears are clean and there are no fleas or skin irritation then it’s nothing to be overly concerned about. If he has sores or an ear infection then I recommended a veterinary exam and treatment.
