Why is my rabbit suddenly running low and hiding in the corner?

With this abrupt change in behavior I would be concerned that something is going on with Binky, like the early signs of an illness. Since he is still eating and drinking there is not much that can be done at this time. Ensure that Binky is still making stool. Also, watch him and his food intake very closely. Your rabbit was probably frightened by what happened. You will have to slowly work with him to regain your trust. Just be patient with him and use lots of treats and he will go back to normal soo. Additionally, when you take him outside if the cage, only allow him into a safe area where he cannot sneak under the furniture and hurt himself. I hope this helps. Thanks for using Boop by Petco. Is it possible that he could have injured himself? If he'll let you, feel around on his body to see if he winces or tenses up when you touch him in a particular place. Watch his movement for any limping or dragging of paws or feet. I would also see if he'll let you look into his ears to check for any parasites or goo that might be making him uncomfortable and droopy-eared. If the above seems normal and the behavior continues, it's time to call the vet. This is doubly true if he stops eating or has a decreased appetite. After all the medical possibilities have been ruled out, you can safely talk to your vet about behavior modification. Give her some quiet time alone (30 minutes or so), and try again, being careful to approach slowly and quietly, talking softly to her. She may just need some time to settle down. Good luck! Hi, It sounds like Luna may just be tired from the increased activity earlier in the day. However, if her appetite and defecation decrease or her behavior is otherwise altered, then that could certainly be a sign of illness. I think it’s fine to wait and monitor her, as long as she keeps eating and defeating nornally. If in doubt, don’t hesitate to take her in to see her veterinarian. Good luck!

He/she can perform a full physical exam and look for evidence of soft tissue or skeletal injury and treat accordingly, if needed. A common problem in rabbits is a misalignment of the teeth causing the teeth to become overgrown instead of grinding down when chewing. Otherwise she may have something else going on affecting her ability to chew or take in food. I would advise your vet take a look at her and trim her teeth if they are misaligned. They can also assess her physically and let you know what else could be going on. She may have parasites also since she is outside which that could be taken care of with a good dewormer. Thank you for using Boop by Petco. She is adorable. The first thing to do is to make sure that Gorda's diet is approriate. Most pet rabbit do not need pelleted food or need very, very little. Hay and vegetables should make up the majority of her diet. For pet rabbits I stronly recommend spaying for behavioural benefits as well as for her health. https://rabbit.org/faq-spaying-and-neutering/ However is she is having very loose stool or acting abnormally, I would recommend a visit to a veterinarian that treats rabbits asap. Whatever is the cause of it, these signs are quite severe in rabbits and should be a reason for an immediate check up. Inappetence can always lead to acute deterioration of clinical condition especially if gastrointestinal motion is slower than normal and feces are not produced. The fact that there is lethargy is even more dangerous and pain could be present as well.
