My cat is sputtering, like a cough and sneeze. Is it a reverse sneeze?

I would recommend starting by providing a supplement such as Lysine for cats to see if this is a viral cause. With viral infections, it may take time for the body to fight the infection but antibiotics typically will not help. Nasopharyngeal (basically meaning the deeper part of the nose) polyps are very common in cats and a benign, however can cause trouble breathing. I recommend having Frankie seen by a vet if the symptoms continue for another day or so. Your vet can perform bloodwork and x-rays, and remove the polyps if Frankie has them. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I would be more concerned about the wheezing as this can be seen with lung disease such as bronchitis for example. I do recommend that you have Keela evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to evaluate her and treat her accordingly. I would be concerned if he is sneezing frequently or he has other signs such as coughing, congestion, runny nose, runny eyes, lethargy, or anorexia. Reverse sneezing can be normal but if it occurs over and over again for a long period of time it can indicate something more like a foreign body in the nasal passageways, severe allergies etc. I would recommend taking Honeybear to the vet to get her evaluated if the sneezing does not subsided at all. If it does get a little better, I think it would be OK to continue monitoring her as she may fine. Good luck!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Sugar is super cute! It sounds like Sugar may be reverse sneezing. It sounds like a sucking in sneeze through the nose where they tend to hold their mouth open and grimace. I recommend searching YouTube for videos and see if that is what she is doing. It is common in some breeds (beagles). Some causes are allergies, inhaled some dust particles, foreign material stuck up the nose or above the soft palpate. If there is no nasal discharge or other signs of illness associated with the sneezing I wouldn't be concerned.
