My cat ate a peace lily and is sick. What should I do immediately?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 17 years old | 7 lbs

I need advice on what to do to help my cat who ate some of my peace lily I understand this can be painful for him. He has lost weight and can only eat minute morsels of soft cat treats. He does drink the juice from canned tuna and is urinating.

I would recommend taking Hunter to a vet as soon as possible. Certain types of lilies can be toxic and cause kidney failure in cats. However with Hunter being 17 it is possible something else could be going on causing him illness like infection, dental disease, kidney disease, and even cancers. I think it is best for him to see a vet and have a good physical exam and blood work to determine why he is so sick. I hope he feels better soon
