Why is my male cat having diarrhea and peeing outside the litter box?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 10 lbs

Hi two days ago I rescued a male cat to keep my female cat company. Sadly they didn't get on and the female cat was been aggressive toward us so we gave her to a friend. This morning my partner said the male cat as poles and weed all over our new carpet and clean clothes so I cleaned it up he also did it again a few hours later. Were getting him newterd on tomorrow and he has been suffering from diarrhea since we got him

Hello. I am sure your veterinarian will be able to address the diarrhea tomorrow when he is neutered. It is probably parasites, so once a fecal is done, the appropriate medication will be administered & the diarrhea should clear up. Take care.
