My cat is suddenly biting his paws and twitching. Should I bathe him?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 4 days old

I live in Vietnam and was outside briefly with my Cat. He suddenly started biting at his feet and legs and experiencing very twitchy skin on his back. His mood seems quite agitated and although it’s not as frequent now, he is still chewing all his paws and back legs. I have looked but can’t see any sign of insect bite or insects on him anywhere. Do you think if I bath him it would help? TIA

That would be my first recommendation as well, to bathe him. Be careful though, as cats do not always tolerate bathing well. If he panics you can always take a wet washcloth and wipe him down several times. If the behavior continues then I would recommend having him evaluated by your veterinarian soon. Best of luck and thank you for using Pet Coach.
