My cat's ear is bent, warm, and he's scratching. Should I take him to vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 11 months and 1 day old | 10 lbs

I went on vacation and left my cat at home with a daily sitter. She said he was very talkative and clingy (normal while I'm away) when I got back, he had a bend in his right ear and I'm wondering whether or not to take him to a vet. It''s not swollen, but is warmer than his other ear and he keeps scratching it

If Bessley is scratching at his ear, then I would recommend having your vet evaluate his ear including his ear canal. There are a few possibilities of what could be going on, but your vet will need to examine Bessley to figure out what is going on and what should be done about it. Good luck!
