Cat ate cranberry. Can it cause red diarrhea, sweet smell, vomiting?

A thought just occurred to me....it may be possible that the cat ingested a soft gel of Cranberry 4200mg with 40MG Vit C and 6IU of Vit E...that had possibly dropped on the bathroom floor. Could this account for the red color of diarrhea, sweet smell, and vomiting?? The smell from the Cranberry bottle smells like the stool when I cleaned it up.

Hello, and thank you for your question. I suspect that ingesting this amount of cranberry, vitamin C and E is the cause of your kitty's vomiting and diarrhea. However, my research does not indicate any further toxicity concerns beyond gastrointestinal symptoms. If her symptoms continue over the next few hours, I would suggest taking her to the vet to check her electrolytes and provide symptomatic therapy for her diarrhea and vomiting.
