Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 1 year and 7 months old | 7.25 lbs

We adopted a cat 1 month ago. she has been vomiting, and hacking like she has something stuck in throat. We have had her to the vet 3 times and spent almost $700 we had to change her food. she was ok for about 4 days but started up again.

If she hasn’t had a broad spectrum deworming done , then I would request that. There is a parasite called Physaloptera that causes vomiting in cats and is very hard to diagnose, so I usually do a trial of the dewormer to see if it resolve. Also a chest X-ray to make she she isn’t coughing from feline asthma. Best of luck and I hope she improves soon. Thank you for using Pet Coach.
